How long have you been on DeviantArt? Since I was 12 so coming up to 7 years now! Gosh... I remember the age to join was 13 but I was a total badass and tried to get around it, resulting in my being banned for a month or so till my birthday. I used to hang out a lot in the forums/chatrooms for the hell of it and only got ratted because I told someone my age haha
What does your username mean?
Andy's my name and Lemon is a nickname an old friend of mine gave me in 7th grade, so I just threw the 2 together. It stuck. It's not my original username though!
Describe yourself in three words.
Chinese Anime Trash.
Are you left or right handed?
What was your first deviation?
OH GOD. It's not on here, I cleared out my gallery ages ago, but it was a human girl version of either Rouge or Tails from the Sonic series. I wonder if I still have them on my laptop? I was thinking about them the other day and wondering if I should have a go at redrawing them.
What is your favourite type of art to create?
Is this medium or subject matter? I like to draw people, as evident in my gallery lol. I draw mostly fanart but occasionally I make original stuff which I quite enjoy.
If you could instantly master a different art style, what would it be?
Are we talking actual art "styles" or like, a medium?
For the former I've come across so many beautiful drawing styles that I have a tag for them on my blog here! I wish I could emulate all of them. I really admire people whose work looks very unconventional, particularly when so many artists try to gear towards Disney-esque and anime styles. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it's very refreshing to see a take on a character that looks super unique and perhaps doesn't "prettify" them so much.
What was your first favourite?
Oh boy let's see - THIS ONE! Ahhhh Xiaolin Showdown AKA my favourite cartoon ever
Man, this brings back memories of my 12 y/o self endlessly scrolling through works on here of my fave shows at the time.
What type of art do you tend to favourite the most?
Ehh I don't know how to describe it but you can look at my faves and decide for yourself. Like there's definitely a theme going on there but I'm not sure how I'd describe it!
Who is your all-time favourite deviant artist?
I'm way more active in Tumblr circles now but there have been a select handful of artists on here that have REALLY impacted my artistic development, especially in the early days. Sadly a fair few of them aren't on here anymore but I've been a massive fan of since I was like, 12. Her work has provided me with an endless amount of inspiration.
comes a very close second because omg. HER COLOURING?! JUST BLOWS ME AWAY?! HOW DOES SHE DO IT?! Like, oh my god I dig her style and aesthetic so much. I'm not usually big on anthros but I would totally marry her art if it was a person hahaha. I'm in love with her outfits and attention to detail, it's stunning.
How has a fellow deviant impacted your life?
is a very dear friend of mine and is the reason I fell into anime hell in the summer of 2013. I couldn't imagine what my life would be like now if I hadn't become anime trash haha.
Also because there was a period where I kinda stopped drawing altogether, but her Harry Potter art is what inspired me to pick it up again and also join Tumblr which has gotten me into all kinds of things since.
What are your preferred tools to create art?
Watercolour and HB pencils, my Wacom Intuos4 tablet, Paint Tool SAI and Photoshop CS3. Sometimes I paint too, but I'm not very good at it
What is the most inspirational place for you to create art?
I always draw at my desk in my room, but inspiration can strike anywhere! I usually just save it in my head till I sit down at home/uni.
What is your favourite DeviantArt memory?
Ok well way back in my baby days I was in a chatroom and there was this really hilarious conversation, I actually copied and pasted and saved it as a word document?! I totally missed an innuendo about a tripod. Looking back now, it was kinda dodgy but ah well. Also when favourited a drawing of mine. I honestly internally flipped out in excitement.
